Obviously once you turn 16, you grow a small area in your brain called the 'almost consent lobe'. This lobe gives you the ability to suddenly understand the complexities of sex— however, only with people that have the same lobe. If you have sex with someone who does not have an almost consent lobe, it will trigger severe mental damages.

Once you turn 18, your almost consent lobe over night turns into a 'young adult consent lobe'. This means you can now understand the incredibly different complexities of sex with people aged 18-24. At 25, it becomes a 'full consent lobe', marking you as a real adult, and giving you an understanding of the even more complex scenario of putting your penis in the mouth of another 25+ year old— significantly more complicated than placing your penis in the mouth of, say, a 17 year old.

Real science here, I swear.

Age appropriate could be difficult to enforce as a law, what defines age appropriate? Most would agree that a 17yo and 23yo fits the appropriateness test. is 17 and 25 still appropriate? how about 28? or 35? Somewhere along the line it stops being appropriate or is less appropriate, possibly not too different from 18yo and 35, save the fact that both are adults. I understood the laws where I am that 16yo is an acceptable age to consent but the other person (who is 18+) cannot be in any position of authority. The authority isn't restricted to say teachers & police, it could be a supervisor at work, a sports coach, religeous figure, or after school maths tutor, even if the ages are 'appropriate' I personally find the position of authority rule to be fairly clear and also reduces the risk of coercion. It does infer that a 17yo consenting to their 23yo maths tutor is less appropriate than a 17yo and 35yo with no prior connection which is questionable as to which scenario may be predatory (if at all, for clarity)

My interpretation of the authority dynamic is this: The real issue isn't the predatory nature of the scenario itself, but rather the minor's complete inability to remove themselves from that situation.

This leads us to the core question: Can a seventeen-year-old actually choose to replace their mathematics tutor?

Certain legal systems consider authority dynamics void after 16 - at which point adolescents may legally seek employment, privately hire educators, move out, and secure independent housing. The fundamental premise being: they possess full agency to extract themselves from undesirable circumstances.
