The Title is The Hard Part.

It's the bit that takes the longest and I'm just relieved it's done. The title ^^ I mean. Classic case of 90% of the work for 3% of the final product

How to write an introduction, it always feels awkward, what do we say?

I'll start typing and see where I end up. I'll begin with this: Hello.

I've been in a similar forum before for quite a while (yrs)

Controversial? No, my experience elsewhere in a support / discussion group was good, and that shouldn't be something to be surprised at.

There's always going to be wide and varied views and I'm open minded to that, not because of the forums theme, but because it's an effective way to communicate. It also may benefit those who discuss topics in good faith whether it's seeking clarity, understanding perpectives or just generally seeking out an improvement.

I consider myself lucky that I've never had any compulsion towards crossing the line. In the real world I engage in normal Adult relationships without any problems. The Mapness is merely something within that doesn't cause me (or anyone else) any issues

On the subject of the real world I'm a male in my 40's. I'm straight although for fun and a creative outlet in private I enjoy being in CD. That's also something that doesn't get any exercise in public and it'll stay that way.

There, an intro. done. I'm sure almost nobody will read it but life sometimes is about box ticking, not real measurable progress. That's why these places exist, a place where the questions can be asked safely and respectfully without too much mainstream censorship. Censorship that needs a tough guy just in case someone were to be viewed as suspicious: The idea that support would compel acts and things that shouldn't occur usually fits the placeholder neatly and without critical thought. Or just thought.

Anyway.
