a thing happened. a very ironic thing.

maybe a month ago or so, on a tumblr, I had seen on a post about proship positivity. the post was about some antishipper shaming a proshipper for being a lolisho om tiktok or something like that.

omeone liked my comment under this post and so today i returned to it. one of the newest comments under it was literally "careful, this artist actually allows n4zis and MAPs on their account" (direct quote, yes). well, it was under a proship-positive post. proship is partially about nonexistence of thought crimes, right? and so i explained to that person that MAPs aren't inherently dangerous just because they were born with certain attraction.

the answer i received?

"so you want for actual pedophiles to be around little kids who WILL act on impulses? ok, you're weird."

...

okay, firstly why would they censor word "nazis"? clearly tiktok influence. secondly, theyre being paraphobic and contradict their own worldview (see proship thought crimes up there), thirdly, what eveb are these "impulses" lmao? little kids having impulses like what? wanting to eat a candy? little kids aren't all that sexually active, they usually don't jump on an adults genitalia you know. and fourthly, of course, what's with using the word "weird" as derogatory again? i know it comes and goes, but geez. im a person who prefers to be called weird. and i know many who are the same. also the fact that i was called weird for, well... being __right__... sad, very sad. puritanism is getting so much worse every day. even some proshippers are getting affected, which are, even if often anti-c, at least a bit more acceptable and usually aren't paraphobes.

so i just wanted to share that sad story with yall.

What do members of the German National Socialist Party have to do with any of this? How did we go from MAPs to pedophiles? What does not kicking them off your profile have to do with meeting and interacting with these people in real life? And in what way should a pedophile be concerned about a child? Are they afraid the child will rape the pedophile? I suppose that’s a risk, but… well, I don’t think it’s something we really need to worry about.

I WISH a child would rape me. I hear all these stories about pre teen boys sexually harrassing and groping older women. Why cant it be me?! So the pre teen boys are sexually harrassing and groping older females that arent into boys but avoid harrassing and assualting the females that are?! What kind of sick and twisted fucking world do we live in…I hear stories about teenage boys raping elderly people, why do they never rape elderly pedophile people?? Sorry to the victims of the rape, but I find it ironic that the kids are attacking everyone sexually except the bitches who would ACTUALLY enjoy it all these news stories about juvenile sex offenders being menaces to kids and adults a like, where are they and how can I meet them?! /j

you know, it actually reminded me of a situation...
there's that show, House MD. and there was an episode where a man had an intersex daughter (15yo) who has been raping him and blackmailing with it. he was completely under her control and mercy, and yet he still was shown as the guilty one. well, okay, legally, i get it, even if its still horribly wrong, he was clearly NOT at fault.
but
there was a person on youtube who reviewed this episode, and, their reaction to the scene of the dad and his daughter being in the same room, was "who allowed child molester to be around his victim? he's a literal child predator and a rapist. see, men are privileged and can do anything to girls"
paraphobia, victimblaiming and misandry what a fun world we live in.

Another statement that gives me a headache. It sounds like the kind of talk you hear from extremely religious people who, as soon as certain topics come up, stop giving real answers and just start quoting Bible verses—killing all nuance and forcing everything back into the framework of a predetermined narrative. As soon as I read the word "privilege", I got chills.

Aside from all that, wasn’t House MD actually quite flexible on these kinds of topics? I don’t remember the specific episode you mentioned, but I do recall one with a similar theme—a girl who had some kind of issue and found the main character attractive. Despite his reservations, he didn’t seem to outright condemn the idea (at least if I’m remembering correctly). At some point, though, he figures out what her problem is and sends her home with the notion that by the next day, she won’t be interested in him anymore.
(Even though inverse chronophilias exist too—there are people who are attracted to older individuals.)

But I might be remembering the episode wrong.

ive watched house md a long time ago, and the only thing that comes to mind on your description is something about a girl who was a victim of sexual assault and took a liking of Greg House himself, but it was something more about him being a father-figure... im not sure either, too

“Shipping” refers to imagining characters in a relationship.


Proship refers to being open to shipping controversial relationships, like minor-attraction or siblings together.

Man, I used to be deeply embroiled in fandom spaces. Shipping of all sorts was considered an inevitable thing, even if one found it distasteful.

partially right, but the explanation is too narrow.
it goes rather like this:
proship means "ship and let ship". broader: what person consumes in fiction doesn't mean they condone it irl + harassing people over fictional stuff (like shipping incest or writing about rape) is wrong because fiction doesn't harm anybody
