A registered sex offender was discovered by police sleeping in his van with a teenage girl.

Brandon Slater, 19, who has an interim sexual risk order prohibiting him from contacting any female under the age of 18, was outstanding for a court warrant.

Police made enquiries to locate him and on September 5, around 11.30pm, officers from the Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) attended Chesswood Road in Worthing, where his Ford Transit van was discovered.

Following attempts to force their way into the van, Slater opened the doors and attempted to flee the scene. He was quickly contained with tasers and a police dog.

Not the person, to be clear, but the fact that there's a public website with a list of offenders, prominently showing not only where they live (as if that were the most important detail, right after the photo) but also freaking buttons to share the info on social media pages. It feels like an open invitation to a manhunt.

But is this stuff even legal? I already think journalists share more information than necessary, but... damn.
