A Maryland man who allegedly believed he was talking to a teenage girl said that he didn't want to see Chris Hansen, the former To Catch A Predator host — but that's exactly who greeted him when he went to meet her, police say.
Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler says his department partnered with Hansen's show Takedown with Chris Hansen to launch a sting operation that led to the arrests of nine men.

Talking to a teenage girl, what a "terrible crime." What i would like to see is an alternative scenario where Chris Hansen gets tackled for trying to meet up with older women and gets charged for taking advantage of the elderly

This Sheriff attempts to propagandize against MAPs, claiming that some people use the term to describe the men who respond to his fake child prostitute ads. It is then revealed they got into touch with Nick Fountain via the subreddit "boysaskdads"!

Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler announced the results of a month-long sting with the former NBC host, which led to the apprehension of multiple men who either traveled, or planned to travel into Harford County to prey on children.
"Some in our society refer to these people as 'minor attracted people,' if you can believe that," Gahler said. "But let me say, and make it very clear, that these people are criminal pedophile predators."
