Some benefits of being a MAP

I had quite a bit of free time at work yesterday. And well, I don't like twiddling my thumbs. Therefore, in addition to playing with some super cute students during lunch, I decided to start making notes for a new article. This article is going to be a little different from the others, as I will focus on the positives of being a MAP. Naturally, some of these positives come with accompanying negatives, and may not be applicable to everyone; this article is largely based on my personal experiences. Caveats out of the way, let's take a look at what's cool about being a MAP!

Being a MAP definitely makes a person less likely to be a mind-numbed robot who falls for racism, jingoism, etc. like normies usually do. I haven't exactly found happiness in that, but as the saying goes, it's better to be Socrates dissatisfied than a pig satisfied.

I know that people would treat me like a some kind of horrible monster just for getting crushes on minors, not even anything to do with sexuality at all! Just getting a crush on a minor is disgusting to them.
My love for kids runs way more than skin deep. I'd lay my life down for a child, yet I'd be seen as worthy of dying a slow, painful, tortured death begging for mercy because of it. it feels as though I'm cursed with being so loving in such a hate fueled world.
But the benefits still remain. I see the beauty in life many don't. Even with all of trauma, stress, and self termination attempts I've been driven to I still find good in life and a reason to keep going and still believing in a better life after this one has expired.
I'm the one to pick up something for a young one when no one else does. I'm the one who'd interact with them while the parents are busy talking politics and their work lives. I'm the one who'd give them attention while everyone is else wrapped up on their phones. I'm the one who'd cradle a crying child to soothe them while the parents are either yelling at them because they're "being annoying" or just plain ignoring them. It infuriates me more than it used to since embracing being a MAP, but at least now I know where that comes from.

WOW! That gave me happiness for a brief moment. You have a beautiful way with words. Far more superior to my capabilities. What you wrote gives me comforting thoughts. Thank you.

Really? Damn! I'm glad to have done that! I'm a writer so it comes with territory I guess.
