As a AAM, how should I deal with the fact that Im unlikely to be able to have a deep friendship or even be with an adult

I know deep down I want to be able to date older people, but I also know adults are heavily frowned upon dating a minor. Even though Im above the age of consent, so it’s less of a legal issue and more that I don’t think I’d be able to find an adult I could have a deep, meaningful relationship with. I’ve talked with my boyfriend about it and he thinks I should at least wait until Im 18 to do that. Another thing I worry about is that I’d just put some innocent person in danger by trying to date them. Lastly I worry that the kind of person willing to take the risk to be with me, might just be doing it for sex. For me all of these thoughts scare me and I really wanna know what you guys think would help.

My honest answer, rather than an emotional one, is to just wait.

There are a lot of trappy laws that could still apply to you as a minor despite being over the age of consent.
