An impromptu inspection of my oldest son's phone revealed some shocking information: He has started dating.

While my wife and I were both delighted to find out our 12-year-old was growing up and exploring the dating pool, it also made us both realize how negligent we had been about keeping up with health and sex education. That's when we immediately sat him down for "The Talk" — the sex talk.

Right! And if the mum hadn't snooped through her son's phone, how long do you think it would've taken for her to figure out that he was interested in dating? Until he was 21? 32?

i truly think that so many parents are clueless. Most kids ages 8-13 have already learned about sex from peers, especially if they have access to the internet.

12 is way way too late to start talking with your kids about their bodies and sex.

I don't think they were negligent I just think they believed that their son was still their « oh so sweet and innocent boy » (cuz we all know libido only is for adults right 🤣)
