A transgender woman who was charged with child sex offences took her own life after an attack on her home in which windows were smashed, a coroner has said.
Maddison Wilson, 37, from Portsmouth, was found dead at Castle Field on 14 February 2025, a few hours after the damage, an inquest heard.
Recording a conclusion of suicide, Hampshire Senior Coroner Christopher Wilkinson said the attack "caused her to flee the property in a very frightened and distressed state".
Wilson had been due to appear in court charged with raping a girl under the age of 13 in Hull and other sexual offences.
The defendant, who was born Mark Anthony Charles Wilson, underwent gender reassignment surgery in November 2024, the Portsmouth inquest was told.
Her brother, Wolfie Wilson, told the hearing she had called him on 13 February saying that "her house was being attacked".
He said: "She sounded panicked and breathing hard and heavy. She told me a neighbour had smashed her window."
The witness said he did not believe the criminal allegations against her, because she had herself been "molested" as a child.
The 37-year-old had been due to appear in court on 26 February charged with rape and causing a girl to engage in sexual activity in Hull.
She was also charged with a sexual assault on a boy and causing a boy to engage in sexual activity in Southampton.
