A man was arrested for the alleged commission of the crimes of child pornography and pedophilia in Quito, this Wednesday, September 18, 2024. The Prosecutor's Office is investigating and looking for more people involved in what would be a whole network that affected children and adolescents in the capital.

According to the investigations, girls, boys and adolescents were used in Quito. After conducting an analysis of digital sources, with the support of international organizations such as the National Center for Missing Exploiting Children, this subject was identified. Edison C., an Ecuadorian national, 18 years old, was allegedly producing, storing and uploading files containing child sexual abuse material through his personal email account.

In addition, it is presumed that he would be producing new sexual content with a minor, who is allegedly part of his family environment. After the operation, the authorities protected two minors. Among the evidence found are 351 digital files. The authorities indicated that this case will continue to be investigated to dismantle this network of alleged pedophiles.
