Is there anyone here who has been convicted before or who are outed, who are doing fine still or who still have supportive friends/family?

I take comfort in knowing I'm not the only one. And in history, there have been a lot of societies where secret-keeping was very important. So, think of the Soviet Union, for instance. There were a lot of informants, and anyone could be waiting to rat you out to the secret police for being a 'counter-revolutionary.' So people had to be careful what they said, even around neighbors and family members. You never knew who you could completely trust. And the Soviet block housing apartment walls were very thin, so you had to be careful what you said even in your own place, lest the neighbors overheard something that they could report.

It's sad to say that society feels a lot like this today, especially for certain marginalised groups like child lovers. But just know that we're not the only ones who ever had to deal with such a dystopian society. People have gotten through this before. One day, I believe we'll get though it again. But until then, we need to be smart and take measure to protect our privacy and safety.

I know lots of people in these communities who have written of being outed. It's usually very difficult at first. But after a while, many have described it as being 'freeing.' And also, they quickly find out who their real friends are, and who is not.

What about financially? I have seen so many cases of MAPs who got convicted or outed, who then lost their jobs, reputation, etc, and struggled to find new ones or rebuild as "once you are a pedo, the only thing you are entitled to is death and nothing else".

There seems to be a increase in popularity towards socialism by the youth. If socialism becomes a thing then outed/convicted MAPs may as well kill themselves as they won't be able to start a business/get hired due to how socialism works. I would slice my arms off to prevent that from happening.

This is a problem in the forms of socialism that have existed till now, where the state controls the economy. There are libertarian or at least more democratic forms of socialism (in theory). But in authoritarian capitalist countries you also have the problem that the state might not let you start a business. So it's not only about the economic system.

Depends on the type of work you're trying to do. If you're a licensed daycare provider, that might be an issue . And also, if you're trying to be a corporate executive in a Fortune 500 company, they will probably ghost you. But don't feel bad, they ghost the majority of qualified candidates already anyway. But on the other hand, if you're a roofer or landscaper or trash truck driver or tradesman, I doubt anyone's going to give a crap. You can still earn a living wage. In some countries with no social safety net, such as the US, there are even jobs programmes to help formerly incarcerated people find employment. If people hire murderers and thieves, then why not someone of a different orientation, too? You can make good money in the trades, these days. And that's mostly men who society already looks down on (wrongly), so yes, there would be things you could do to earn a living wage.

Maybe it will go full communism, and you won't have to worry about it, because then everyone will be forced to work, whether they want to or not. Or perhaps with socialism, you wouldn't have to work, because there would be a big focus on public benefits (e.g., 'universal basic income'). Regardless, being outed is not the end of the world. You probably just won't be able to get that corporate email job if outed. Life goes on.
