Kamala Harris called youth STUPID!

A few days ago I saw a post on NYRA social media that really surprised me (in a bad way) apparently Kamala Harris said:
"What else do we know about these population 18-24 years olds THEY RE STUPID!, that is why we put them on dormitories and they have a resident assistant, they make really bad decisions"
NYRA (National Youth Rights Association) comment about Harris disrespect for young people:
The disrespect and ageism that then-Attorney General Harris revealed in this speech is inexcusable. And the so-called "fact checking" or "added context" that has been circulating online doesn't change anything.
In 2014, while talking about the "Back on Track" program she launched as District Attorney of San Francisco, Kamala Harris referred to 18-24 year olds as "stupid". That, she opined, is why they are put in dormitories where they have RAs. The truth is not all young people choose to go to college at all, and many attend community college, where there are no dormitories or RAs. How old are those RAs at universities, taking responsibility for fellow students? Often times, they're 18-24 years old themselves.
Back on Track applied to people up to the age of 30. Are 25-30 year olds "stupid" as well? What Kamala Harris failed to realize is that we can't neatly divide the world into young stupid people and old smart people. If she thinks people who commit certain crimes deserve a second chance, maybe everyone should get that second chance regardless of age. Ironically, she has expressed openness to Vote16. When more young people are given the right to vote and do so in larger numbers, the disrespect that she and other politicians show to our youth won't be tolerated any longer.
