Forgot to mention these sources for nuanced thinking and other demystification regarding youth liberation issues! (NOTE: any links not currently working should be looked up via archive org or similar!)
Student Press Law Center:
https://www.splc.org
General youth lib info:
National Foundation for Gifted Children or something like that:
https://www.nfgcc.org
The War On Adolescents by Mike Males
(haven't read this one, so don't know his focus)
Teen Liberty:
https://www.teenliberty.org
"Wildest Colts Make the Best Horses" (book and website info challenges prevailing conceptions around nonconforming kids who are nowadays usually labeled with all kinds of manipulative reductions by the psychiatric(k) establishment! Very illuminating! :
https:///www.wildestcolts.com/booklet/booklet.html
The Politics of the 'Child Savers' (before and up to the 1970s), a book review (i think this was published in "FPS" in the '70s) :
(I'm going to put this up as a separate post, with the full text!)
Schooling:
https://schoolsucksproject.com
A real history of schooling by John Taylor Gatto (Two-time "teacher of the year" winner in NY state, USA) :
https://www.johntaylorgatto.com
Unschooling resources
(basically, you can still go to college, if you want, without graduating K-12, legally (!) in many states; and it's not only for religious fundamentalists!) :
https://www.holtgws.com/homeschool-unsc ... -resources
Also:
THE TEENAGE LIBERATION HANDBOOK: How To Quit School and Get A Real Life and Education by ex-teacher, Grace Llewellyn (1990). Am not sure if she's still involved, but awhile back there was a camp for unschoolers known as "The Not Back To School Camp". Not sure if it's still happening, but worth exploring especially if you're a kid!!
Another author, i think named Susan (?) McGrath (?) has published at least one book on this topic!
