(This flier was inspired by a similar one put out by mainstream gays at the March On Washington, DC, 1993)
BECAUSE
homophobia, sexophobia, ageism, and sexualism are fully sanctioned by homosexuals, the "leaders" of other oppressed groups, as well as "radicals" AND if we talk openly of our love we're automatically "sick" and "perverted" and always either "predators" or "victims" of "predators" AND our consensual sexual experiences are always deemed to be "rape" and "assault" of the "worst kind" (worse even than actual rape and assault)AND we are 'unfashionable' victims and scapegoats of official abuse and distraction games AND persons genuinely oriented to sexual young people are discriminated against in the ability to be recognized as fellow human beings capable of genuine caring and love AND how we are portrayed in the media and by business enterprise is more "legitimate" than who we say we are from our own words--even though we risk great danger in speaking up AND if we get harassed or beaten up we should have 'known' to remain quiet AND if we raise our voices in our defense, we're over-stepping 'acceptable' boundaries AND if we have AIDS we "deserve" it and are monsterously spreading it to our "victims" AND IF WE DARE MARCH PUBLICLY IN PRIDE AND DIGNITY WE'RE SURE TARGETS FOR HYSTERIA and if we dare organize for our survival and sanity we're creating 'sex rings' and must look forward to hostile 'investigative' tactics by hyped-up and bigoted "vice" squads and public alike AND we're supposedly 'laughing in society's faces' say unaccountable hype-promoters who make their living off of adding to and creating public hysteria AND if we want to care for abandoned/needy kids we have an 'insatiable need' to 'get over on them' with our 'sick power trips' AND IF WE DON'T WANT SEX WITH OUR AGE PEERS WE'RE 'AFRAID' OF THEM and if we have a fully genuine relationship with a member of the illegal generation it is called "worse than murder" and something to "recover" from AND we are constantly told that our feelings for young people are not "real" but only a "mental disorder" or due to "biochemical imbalances" in our brains AND FINALLY BECAUSE the ways that are used to silence and marginalize us will certainly be used on every other future domestic "enemy" to come.
