Hislop was hauled before the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), where she faced a string of allegations relating to her time at the school.
She admitted to taking no action against White despite the pupil involved being put at risk of harm.
Hislop told the disciplinary watchdog that she should have ‘taken advice’ when it emerged White had allowed a pupil to sleep in her room.
She said White was an ‘experienced teacher’ who had told her it was ‘normal’ for pupils to sleep in the same room as a teacher when there had been ‘incidents’.
