Posting here because the MU community page needs to be updated. Context below. TLDR: members voted to shut down due to safety concerns, and the group creator advocates for more in-person meetups instead.

Beyond the Plus was a Seattle-based organization promoting community for those outside the mainstream definition of queer, including paraphiles, people with transidentities, and other radqueers. In February 2026 members voted to disband Bt+ due to ongoing and future safety concerns.

I founded this organization because I wanted to help people. I wanted to reach out to those who didn't already have community and offer them safe spaces where they could meet others and beat loneliness. I thought the community was ready for something public, but I guess I was wrong. I still want to help people who are closeted, but if the answer isn't public organizations then I think the only thing is to set an example and inspire people to fix their loneliness on their own.

Bt+ may be gone, but our message lives on. People in our community need to form in-person connections, only then will we achieve the acceptance we all want so badly. We all want our Stonewall, but Stonewall happened before gay rights organizations, not the other way around. Maybe someday something like Bt+ can exist again, but only once our people are organized and ready to literally fight for their rights, just as queer people did back then.

People want their safety guaranteed, but the truth is that it never can be in in-person spaces. If we want our rights then we all need to brave unsafe scenarios, be smart about how we handle them, and stick together. The best safety we will ever have is in numbers; if we are all side-by-side then we can protect ourselves from whatever threats come our way. But if we stay divided and stay in online spaces where we know we can't be hurt, then we will never know progress.

Our acceptance will not come through arguments online, social media websites, and public organizations. It'll start with genuine, in-person community, just as it did for every other marginalized group that came before us. It is our duty, if we want to see our acceptance, to play a part in that. Whether here in Washington, or across the world.

Yes, Elon Musk's X.com giving BT+ major headline attention to demonize it is what lead to this. But other then that I think they had a ZERO chance of making a difference. BT+'s message was rooted in intersectionality research and post structrualist thought of Harry Hay and Michael Focault. With one member identifying as "trans japanese" and them supporting trans racial identities and trans species identities. It would have never succeeded as it is too immature.

They never talked about scientific research on digust, social contagion, peer pressure, us vs them thinking and moral outrage. They never talked about evolutionary psychology. You know the stuff needed to educate the public to LIBERATE us. At least in my stuborn well researched opinion. They just framed MAP rights as fighting oppression from puritan culture. Typical leftist talking points borrowed from LGBT originating from Marxist lore. Also one of the members expressed fantasy for hurtcore and toddlers which is a far cry from me watching chinese toddlers on swimwear clothes catalogs safe happy and playing. Keep in mind I proudly masturbate to chinese toddlers and I am addicted too it, but BSDM of toddlers and swim shop websites of toddlers are two radically different things regarding the safety of the child. Though I agree fantasy alone is not harm.

Maybe I will be unpopular here for saying this but I think BT+ was a failed strategy for MAP liberation that we can all learn from, and it was weeded out by natural selection. If you actually start challenging antis on the grounds of scientific research on

1) Digust
How the brains repurposed the rotten food detection system for moral and sexual norms and other harmful behaviors. Intense disgust triggers when sexual norms are violated or unwanted mating cues happen. All humans are disgusted by things that turn them off sexually.

2) Moral Outrage and Anger
Primal fury that animals have to protect themselves and their young or negotiate by fear with other animals to aquire food and resources they need.

3) Us vs. Them thinking and tribalism
How normies divide the world into ultra simple categories and duking it out. Ingroup OutGroup Hysteria

4) Peer Pressure and Comformity
Everyone in the tribe agrees to keep social cohesion. (such as adults making adult child sex look much worse then it is or escalating nonsense that Epstein was a cannibal)

5) Stress and Anxiety
Stress once happened when your ancestors were being chased by a hungry Jaguar, now it happens day to day at work. Anxiety was to predict a potential jaguar now its nothing but a common medical disorder triggerred by school and work.

6) Fear
Extremely powerful emotion to form strong mental assocations that are dangerous such as remembering that the Jaguar can eat you so your mind fears it.

7) Territorialism
Evolutionary psychology suggest the basis of property rights in human societies is tied to animalian territorial instincts to defend land or a domain they need to increase chances of survival. The property based legal frameworks we see in the 21st century traces back to wild animals building dams, burying meat in snow, protecting a nest or marking territory in piss.

The strongest moral values anti pedos hold are nothing more then faulty instincts. If we want libertarion we must move beyond the plus's strategy. Using civil rights, intersectionality research and LGBT talking points "LOVE IS LOVE" alone will NOT WORK. We need to embrace natural sciences and evolutionary psychology to liberate pedos and peacefully critique and challenge antis.
