Seperating adults in positions of authority from regular individuals

I think part of the issue is the definition of adult could have multiple meanings.
Many people would say an adult is someone who reaches the age of majority but then there are many people who would say an adult is someone who is in a position of authority (like a parent, teacher or social worker etc.)
Should every adult be in control of children/minors or only a certain few?
Should Adults who are not in position of authority be deemed as equals to under 18s and should both have same rights?
Should laws be more lenient to adults who are not in positions of authority?
Does society need to accept that people who are not in positions of authority are just human beings and no different from anyone under 18- they make mistakes and don’t know everything?
Do children need to be taught that not every adult has any authority over them and just because they may be older doesn’t mean they are always correct or know everything or an accurate source?
Do you think society expects too much of people who are 18+?
Do you think it is healthy for children to view adults as people who are strong, mentally stable, knowledgeable and has no mental health issues and doesn’t need help and are fearless. I was taught that adults are perfect people who are not allowed to get upset, throw tantrums or get scared and not allowed to be niave or innocent etc?
should adults be expected to know everything or only certain adults?
