Are alts to youtube like freetube or freespeech tube "safe"? As in as allegedly "safe" as two people using protonmail? Can one be "unmasked" if watching freetube or freespeech tube while using TOR? (I recall several years back, the TOR project saying that watching youtube could get one unmasked.

Why is there no discussion of this sort of thing on any of the MAP or BL sites? (What have i missed?)

Some also say that the Linux system works as a sort of VPN. How is that possible? It sounds like hype to me.

Finally, is there a trusted place one can have their computer checked out? Maybe something like the old "Click and Clack" radio show that had a website that let consumers RANK auto-mechanics!!?

Posters of a well-known stature could certainly "vote" on which apps/alts are "safest", to help folks with all of this!

i would think such a thing would be of a CRUCIAL help to having MORE PARTICIPATION on these boards!

That's false, you need a separate VPN (or tor, etc.) even if you are using Linux (which I recommend anyway). Maybe you're thinking of tails Linux, which comes with tor pre-installed. So it's either that, or hype.
