Question for pro-c MAPs

I'm curious, at what age do you think minors can consent? I can see how a 12yo teen would want to have sex with people their age because they already know what sex is and have libido, but a 9yo doesn't, what makes you think it's OK? How can the consent to something they don't understand? I remember I started masturbating when I was 11, but younger than that seems wrong

To play devil's advocate, and to ignore the argument that some children are naturally sexual before that age...
Does something being unnatural, sex included, necessarily make it harmful?

Well, not to beat a dead horse, but as I mentioned on an older thread from someone else I'd been masturbating since I was 5 at the latest, probably earlier too, and in a way fairly congruent with my gender despite not being cis, so make of that what you will.

Nonverbal people can give consent. Animals can give consent (bonbons and Capuchin monkeys even having specific hand gestures). I believe human children can consent as soon as they're aware of sexual feelings, or that this funny feeling they have makes them feel good.
This whole idea of consent being based around words alone has effectively been used to deny and even outright abuse verbal, spoken, and written language, and completely ignoring body language which usually says far more than words. Let's say one can say yes but they're coerced into saying it out of fear of rejection or punishment. Are you going to believe them based on their words ALONE or how their body is reacting, their eye movements, their stance, etc?
This notion that "yes means yes and no means no" can and has been used to abuse people (well, you did say yes)...but their body language and vocalizations clearly state the opposite and the abuser or toxic person will keep ignoring them well beyond their threshold because "they said they consent".
If someone is being touched but they have a sore arm and are too tired to speak, it's obvious when they don't want you touching them even without words. Vice versa too. Also certain behaviors in the body language in nonverbal people or animals will be telltale signs even though they cannot speak our language, whether they're actually enjoying themselves or reacting from submission or manipulation/abuse.

why would someone need a sex drive in order to consent is my question. there are sex positive asexuals so i dont see why a 9 year old can't consent w/ out a libdo

I see your point, the thing is I don't see how they would enjoy it if they don't have libido yet, but I agree what society think is harmful is actually due to secondary harm

How can the consent to something they don't understand?
How can they understand something they haven't done? Humans learn by doing, and sex is one of the least complicated things a human can learn about. Sexual knowledge is something that's artificially kept secret from kids.

So everyone's life must be exactly like yours or it's wrong? I started masturbating at 13, so does that mean you were an abnormal sex-crazed mentally-traumatized pervert because you started at 11?
Edit: Oh, I see. Your AoA starts at 11. So as long as you get to have sex with who you want, that's enough. You don't care about anyone else's rights. Selfish.

I didn't mean that, I'm attracted to people younger than 11 too, and I feel bad about it, I just wanted to hear people's opinions here, I don't think I'm better than people here because I like them older since society hates us anyways

I don't think that there's one specific birthday that changes everything for all young people. Physical and emotional growth are
gradual processes that unfold at different times for different individuals.

The Victorians felt the same way. That's why they invented 'chastity belts.'

What are you talking about? I don't know where you're getting this from, that nobody has ANY libido before puberty.
'Science shows that children can and do experience sexual arousal and pleasure before puberty, although the intensity and patterns change with development.'¹ Puberty increases sex hormones, but those sex hormones are present before puberty.
'Desire and pleasure exist on a continuum and vary widely between individuals.'¹

To add upon the other arguments here,
You're right that they may not understand, but why do you think they are incapable of learning?

This, and there are many reasons people have sex other than physical pleasure they may receive.
