So if this article says children who are 12 and older are able to understand informed consent... How different is this from giving consent, exactly? Because the arguments that are against adults and children associating all come down to 'life experience' or things like 'grooming' when even kids their own age can cause harm to each other.
Should being able to consent to medical procedures and being able to understand them not pave the way for personal autonomy and loving who you want to love? It feels like what exists in the United States is just parental overreach and control.
