First I am going to assume everyone knows about "qanon, satanic panic, pizza gate and Epstein baby eating claims". If you don't check the bottom of the thread that discusses them These are baseless far right conspiracy theories that slander us MAPs as an extreme evil danger to children and society, often claiming MAPs are part of elite satanic ritual abuse circles. I also cited historical conspiracies on the bottom of the thread too "Salem Witch trials" "and 12th century Blood Libel against Jews" that have the secret society and child harm claims.

The goal of this thread is to dissect the social ingredients of these conspiracies to figure out what they need to be successful, success is defined as spreading on social media and or getting believed by millions and causing effect in the real world. We will also be giving an example of a "proto qanon conspiracy" that slightly took off but failed. That is a Disney Cruise Ship child porn bust (exclusive to internet only crimes) that a isolated portion of the public shortly spread misinformation about, claiming the cruise ship had child sex rings and kidnappings, the conspiracy was not successful, it quickly died off, and that is what I will label a proto qanon conspiracy because some of the ingredients needed for it to take off existed but not enough and it died off.

What I am trying to do is establish the likely ingredients needed for a "satanic ritual child abuse conspiracy theory" to take off. The question is why some news stories about pedophiles/under 18 sex news cases turn into "Epstein ate babies lore"/Adrenochrome drinking satanist" and why others do not explode with conspiracies despite being high profile. The Disney cruise example will show failure to take off.

But first, if you do not know about these conspiracies or want to learn more details skip to "successful conspiracies list" below to quickly readdress them, and see what I am talking about. Even if you do know reading for more details can help refresh your memory.

To begin let's state the components all of these successful conspiracy theories (qanon, satanic panic, Epstein, witch hunts, 12th century anti-jew blood libel) share in common

1) Allegations of a secret society
"a secret society" a cabal. That is one of the ingredients needed to incite widespread false belief. The idea that a small group of powerful people are controlling things. This is the case in qanon, pizzagate, epstein class claims and the 12 century blood libel against jews

2) Violation of societal trust/ failure of the system
The second ingredient is a symbol of societal trust being violated, rather its the 2008 Federal plea deal of Epstein being a letdown to society, or the societal trust violation of falsely believing the Democratic party of the United States is mass harming children in qanon.

3) Long term media coverage
The third ingredient is long term media coverage, Epstein was a long media coverage unlike the brief 2026 child porn Disney cruise arrest. Same goes with long term media coverage of Trump supposedly doing "qdrops" that leads into four

4) Gamification
The fourth ingredient is gamification, something the public can do to interact with the news. Where news media or crime stories are unintentionally turned into a game by the public that the public can participate in instead of just being an observer. In example qanon had "q drops" where Trump supporters look for alleged subliminal clues Trump is making to indicate the progress of his battle against satanic pedophiles

Gamification's next example is the 3 million Epstein files being released to the public, the public digging through justice.gov/epstein and treating it like a game where words like Jerky are coded as human flesh and pizza is coded as child porn, or and calming to find references to the ancient middle eastern deity Baal on a banking paper that typo'd something about balance. Or believing that one crackpot cannibal claim in the Epstein files. Gamification simply means the public has a role to play. And the Epstein files digging and conspiracies is a solid example of that. It also Includes Parents in the 1980s breaking intos preschools at night or digging underground in looking for evidence of satanic ritual abuse in the Satanic Panic McMartin preschool trials. Gamification is needed for these conspiracies.

Yeah, I could list a lot more examples but this should be enough. The gist of all these post is normies confusing internet only crimes with brutal sex trafficking networks operating on a cruise ship. The difference between viewing illegal media and viciously abducting kids onboard a ship.

But we can clearly see the Disney version of qanon is not as popular and did not take off as well. Especially the Cruise Ship sub category of the crime tried to take off as seen in X.com the comments but failed. This shows it was missing some of the ingredients to take off. Perhaps 3) long term media coverage and 4) gamification, because it clearly meet 2) because Disney is a symbol of child entertainment and "childhood magic" being defiled and betraying the public into doing something that harms children. with 1) its difficult to say because at the top they can argue Disney is a secret society but its not clear cut.

The conclusion is we see evidence of a proto qanon that failed to take off with the Disney Cruise Ship. I hope this helps dissect the nature of qanon beliefs, and of course this ties into "us vs them thinking" tribal psychology of Trump as a war leader marching his tribe into battle against satanic cannibal pedophiles and disgust reflexes but that isn't going to be brought up now. This thread was just meant to show a failed proto qanon theory and the ingredients needed to give it a higher chance of success.

So it might be safe to say if the Disney Cruise child porn crime of May 7th 2026 had long term media scandals, a small crew at the top that managed the cruise that were also charged with child porn, and the news featured inadvertent detective work for the public to do it would have taken off into a full blown conspiracy like qanon with millions of people believing Disney human trafficking rings were abducting kids on a cruise ship and doing satanic rituals. But because it lacked those elements it probably fell short, despite being a "proto qanon"

Pizzagate: is a 2017 far right crackpot conspiracy theory where a Pizza Parlor in New York City has alleged connections to elite circles that work with Hilary Clinton who in the lore has ill intent against children, the parlor is suppose to contain secret rooms with dungeons where children are being violently kidnapped and tortured/raped. These lies resulted in real world crime such as lone gun men walking in the building armed with the intent to intimidate.

Epstein ate babies is a unofficical name for a current 2026 conspiracy based on a real sex trafficker.

In the conspiracy Epstein was eating babies, ordering large scale abductions and practicing satanic rituals with world leaders.

In reality Jeffrey Epstein was a man who did associate with other wealthy and famous in the fashion model industry but outside of statutory rape his harm was 1) deceiving teenage girls to come on his Island with false promises of fame fortune fashion contract models 2) Using economic dependency to keep the girls dependent on him when they'd rather not be. 3) Bait and switch massages that turned unexpectedly sexual without the amateur massager knowing. 4) and intimidation and verbal threats towards teenage girls

However the public transformed Epstein's real crimes into a fever dream about cannibalism, sadistic torture, violent kidnappings and satanic elite. mostly due to the DOJ's long wait to release Epstein files of them curating 3 million files. Which included people believing a crackpot no further investigation report some crazy person filed to the FBI in 2019 about Epstein and Bush Senior eating babies together, and talks about "jerky" and pizza being mislabeled as "child porn" and human meat, ignoring the fact that Epstein had a chef that regularly prepared Jerky. So over all they turned a real crime into a extreme horror story.

1980s Satanic Panic is a 1980s conspiracy theory with traceability back to a non scientific crackpot therapist helping a un-diagnosed schizophrenic client of his Michelle Smith recover so called "repressed memories" these memories were of alleged satanic abuse by a group of elite satanic pedophiles, recovered through hypnosis, After the "Michelle Remembers" book was published 1980s it and part with growing technological changes that allowed mass media broadcasting fueled apeshit hysteria, and lead to accusations of extreme violent sexual abuse in a preschool. The McMartin preschool trials happened with dozens of daycare workers accused of doing horrific sexual abuse and satanic rituals on children and animals. In the end there were zero convictions, zero evidence and the few convictions undone, the trial went on for 7 years and cost 15 million USD, the largest trial in US history at the time.

Historical Examples
17th century Massachusetts - Salem Witch Hunts : Puritans then saw the world as a battleground between Godly men and wicked, Accusing conservative house wives in their district of being witches and communing with the devil and performing black magic that harmed and corrupted children. All natural childhood disease, famines, crop shortages, sickness and disease explainable by science today was blamed on witches. There was a special focus on preventing witches from harming children. 14 innocent people were hanged 14 women, 5 men and 1 child who was assumed to be a witch.

12th century Blood Libel against jews Not sexual accusations, but claims about small circles of elite Jews sacrificing children they kidnap with ritual crucifixions and other degrading things. Easter year 1144, a 12 year old boy was found dead. Jews in society get blamed, someone writes a book that Jews are vile monsters who abduct children and crucify then for fun and drink their blood. Society grows skeptical of Jews as a minority. The Church/Government at the time steps in kills 100s of Jews and punishes them as a whole.

Like most people I just write conspiracy theorists off as crackpots. There are usually a few good manipulators selling books or agendas and then a mass of uneducated easily pursuaded people looking for some kind of escapism. The worlds always had people like that, the Internet just gives them a bigger pool of dupes.

It's good to see some history to it though.

I usually find myself disagreeing with much of what you say (though about things that don't have enough evidence one way or another to truly argue) but I found this insightful. I've noticed that online personalities who have degrees in fields adjacent to psychology or medicine but who make 'drama' content as a side hustle or career act a lot like the 'expert witnesses' of yesteryear- doctors and professionals who contribute their expertise to legal cases to aid in evidence analysis who are paid by prosecutors and can supply misleading or incorrect information to juries in charge of judging guilt or innocence in a case. The only difference nowadays is that they act on the court of public opinion, increasing the sphere of control of legal judgments and scientific scrutiny well beyond the courtroom, which is another point in favor of Foucault's model of increasing sites of control and discipline over sexuality.
