Hi. I have a dog, and live across the street from an off leash dog park. Since my dog was only 10 weeks old, I've been taking him there. Since that time, I have had many interactions with kids in the park, that were very clearly attracted to me, but of course, I couldn't act on those interactions.

On one morning, I had a girl no older than 2, being carried by her mom in the park, walking ahead of me. She was initially interested in my dog, so I mentioned my dog's name. I was behind them, the girl looked back at me, and just stared at me. She asked her mom, "Who dat mommy?" Her mom replied, "That's *******'s daddy!" She said "******* daddy? "

I initially thought that was the end of the interaction, but then the girl asked to be let down. When her mom put her down, she looked at, and pointed at me, and said "Uppy!" Her mom believed she wanted to be picked up again, but she just kept looking at me. I knew that she actually wanted me to pick her up. It was quite clear, but her mom, of course didn't pay attention to what her daughter was actually trying to communicate.

So toxic how people say they love their kids yet deprive them. So much for love. For us though that love can come about in more...mature ways. Yet kids are taught that it's bad. No wonder we're becoming more and more violent! i can only hope that someday MAPs can have kids, raise them and win in numbers.
