Time for a brutally honest reality check...

If you read my post about affirmative support last month, this piece might at first seem like little more than a rewrite. It treads similar ground. But since I wrote that, LifeLine Chat has been all over the news following allegations that a much-loved celebrity visited the service on an airplane. My head is absolutely teeming with thoughts on the matter, having read all of the drama in response to both the story and LifeLine's press release. In this article, I'll talk about some of the tangential implications of the fallout. And it might be a tad more aggressive than any of my responses so far. Prepare for a rambling and shocking literary rampage... all offense intended.

A good article that reflects to a degree my own views.
I personally don't think pedosexual is a sexuality but then I don't think there's such a thing as sexuality.
Different people are attracted to different characteristics, nobody gets to pick what triggers the chemical reactions behind attraction or love, we can only learn to manage them. That isn't unique to pedophiles. A non-pedophile heterosexual adult should know they can't manipulate another adult into sex, can't threaten them or rape them. Most have no problems with this, a minority do, but they are called out as rapists and abusers. But nobody terms the majority who don't do such things as rapists. But when it comes to pedophiles, the rules seem to change and people just conflate anyone with an attraction with rapists. That provides great cover for actual rapists and abusers while persecuting ordinary men and women who just have a normal attraction that they didn't choose. I consider all sexualities to be one sexuality, people either experience attraction or they don't. It's also fluid because gay people can have straight attractions and straight people can have gay attractions, it depends on so many factors, enough that I just think it collapses down to one sexuality.
Also, when it comes to attraction and age of consent, I don't think the idea of an age line holds.
The definition of an adult is "One who has attained maturity or legal age."
But maturity isn't a measure of age, there are immature adults and mature children. So that leaves legal age, but that also varies by region.
If you look at the global population and the number of people that live in countries with different age of consents we get the following.
12-13 ~2%
14 ~23%
15 ~3%
16 ~21%
17 ~2%
18 ~40%
Marriage only (no lawful sex out of marriage) ~4%
Other/mixed ~5%
That's quite a spread and shows that there isn't any universal human understanding of legal age or maturity.
There are a lot of ordinary good people in a country where 14 is considered a normal age for consent, they travel to a different country where the age of consent is 18 and suddenly that same thing is considered worse than murder.

We all know that when kids hit an even number, their ability to give informed consent increases remarkably.
