Court records: Putnam County woman arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a minor

UTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Putnam County woman was arrested after allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old at a home in Putnam County, court records said.
Annika Starr Chapman, 38, was charged with sexual assault of a minor after deputies received a call in September from the aunt of the juvenile, claiming that Chapman assaulted him at a home along Hammermill Road in Nitro, according to a complaint filed with the Putnam County Magistrate Court.
The juvenile was forensically interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in Charleston in October, during which he said that he snuck out of his house and went to a home where Chapman and others were. The youth told investigators he drank a bottle of vodka, passed out and woke up being assaulted by Chapman.
According to the complaint, Chapman was previously charged with possession of meth after attempting to hide the substance inside of her following a traffic stop back in February.
Chapman is currently being held at Western Regional Jail on a $10,000 surety/cash bond for possession of drugs and a $20,000 cash only bond for sexual assault.
