It's surprising to know how it's not just anglosphere countries like the USA, the UK and Canada have it, but many others do like France and Germany, and even South Africa: https://ccresourcecenter.org/2020/11/24 ... the-world/

Granted, the article was published in 2020 so it might be old, but it's still a useful resource. It certainly doesn't surprise me how America remains "exceptional" among even the countries with an operational SOR in how much information is divulged to the public regarding registered offenders, with most non-American countries often restricting the access to government agencies or private organisations under certain conditions.

This channel recently reviewed some of those registries: Albania, Poland and France. All much less restrictive than most US states (which seem to be in a race to the bottom).

Steve’s coverage of the registry in Poland was interesting. I had assumed that as a public one it would mimic that in the US, but that’s not really the case. Even the most reactionary countries in Europe don’t hold a candle to the US.
