Why do people think pedophiles are sadistic?

I notice that most people think pedophiles (or MAPs in general) are sadistic and get off to the idea of abusing or hurting children and minors. I remember a Twitter blogger wrote about how she did a survey on pedophiles, most of them claimed to not be sexually aroused by cruelty, and people in the comments claimed the pedophiles were lying. It seems like people think that pedophilia is the desire of wanting power or control over a child rather than genuine love or sexual attraction. They think its impossible for an adult to feel love and attraction towards a child or minor the same way an adult would feel for another adult. Why is this?

Most actors in society love children or feel some kind of physical/affective attraction towards some child or minor.

Same actors, according to the social values they have imbibed, would never want this to be deemed pedophilic, as this would imply they, their families, their culture and values are pedophilic.

Therefore, the "pedophile" becomes a kind of toxic dumping ground, or "folk devil" for various prejudices about what is indecent interest in children.
