I get it...it's the law etc or their absurd id laws, but id just like some clarification on the matter so I assume this is a u.s. based hosting service correct? So if you don't abide by foreign countries laws and try to be a rebel will they just shut you down or?

My understanding is that if this forum allowed UK IPs to access then maybe ofcom would think they can include it in the online safety laws as the UK IPs would suggest there are UK users here. It doesnt really matter where the host is, its about user base I believe. Thats why they have been attacking social media companies based in the US, because UK people use them.

If it might violate a UK law, then the site cannot enable UK users to do it. This helps protect both users and the site.

So it's to protect USERS not so much the site then? Like if a user in the UK got caught here without following the law and not using a vpn or tor they could get into some deep shit correct?

I mean I hate the way things are and if it was up to me more people would full on rebel against tyranny. Maybe not violently not for a while at least but starting with civil disobedience.

VPNs are so common these days, it's only a matter of time until operating systems come with them built in with a default enabled.

Anyway, I think it's better to block UK IPs and if anyone wants to visit from the UK then they'll just run a VPN.

We don't want to deal with the UK's OFCOM (complying would jeopardize user and operator anonymity), so we blocked all UK IP addresses.
