Re: Views on the morality of child sex work (e.g. prostitution, pornography)

Most of this hinges on the morality of AMSC in general, but putting that aside I don't see any reason why it would be different from adult prostitution.

I don't have any ethical issues with prostitution and sex work so long as it's being done consensually and not out of desperation. I agree with ...

Re: “Non-Binary” Star Performer Sentenced To 20 Years In Federal Prison After Creating, Selling Child Sexual Abuse Mater

I think it's incredibly stupid to produce these videos and sell them on onlyfans. Not sure what they expected to happen.

From the sounds of it this would be considered a normal thing to do if one of them wasn't 16. Getting 20 years in federal prison for this is ridiculous, and even I'm willing to ...

Re: Incest - Worth defending?

The incest taboo is ridiculous. The justifications for it are flimsy at best.

Parent-child incest is the only form of incest that I see as being particularly risky. I know the "power imbalance" argument isn't well respected in MAP circles, but when it comes to parent-child relationships it seems ...

Re: Hi!

Welcome!!

Very well written introduction, and I appreciate your perspective.

As a pedophile myself, I feel that I am attracted to people that are much more susceptible to the harms you outline in your post, more so than adolescents.

I'm curious, do you believe that there is a lower age limit ...

Re: Unattracted by minors?

I used to think that everyone was attracted to 8 yr olds like I am, and society just collectively chose to pretend otherwise.

This isn't true of course, but I think many people are attracted to adolescents more than they care to admit. Maybe even the majority of people are attracted to 16 year olds ...

Re: Pro-Reform: 'Soft Reforms' for community adoption

I generally like this article. I fully agree with better training for mental health professionals, robust sex education for all, reform of mandatory reporting and sex offender registries, right to MAP free assembly and speech, and abolishing punitive and inhumane treatment of offenders, particularly ...

Re: MAPs hurting MAPs (a thought bubble)

I agree Fragment. I think some anti-contact / contact skeptical MAPs have a tendency to demonize MAPs who face legal charges, even if they don't deserve it.

In some cases this can be done unintentionally. News reporting on sexual offenses involving minors are rarely charitably framed, and some ...

Re: I'm a journalist, AMA

Have you seen any significant changes in the way media reports on MAPs / pedophiles over your career?

I saw in your introduction that you consider yourself a "doomer". Is there a particular aspect of news reporting that led you to feel this way?

Re: What to know about the Los Angeles Catholic Church’s $880M settlement with sexual abuse victims

I'm no lawyer, nor am I familiar with the details of this case. However my basic understanding is that this allowed for people to sue even if the allegations are for crimes that have passed the statute of limitations. I would assume that the procedure would be identical to any other sexual abuse ...

Re: What to know about the Los Angeles Catholic Church’s $880M settlement with sexual abuse victims

I find it quite ironic that sexual abuse fanatics can say with a straight face "it's all about the power ", when literally billions of dollars are changing hands over accusations that will never be proven. If that's not a stronger incentive than the abuse itself, what is ?

Are you implying that ...
