Re: Cognitive distortions

Yeah, this is a thing I often find frustrating about these kinds of surveys. Particularly when you are forced into a binary agree-disagree, there's no context. For example, what is the definition of children that we are using here? For question 8, what if you think most people (men and women) are de...

Re: B4QR Volume 4, Issue 2

For what it's worth, B4U-ACT is not anti-contact. I guess they are NOMAP, in the sense that they strongly encourage people to not break the law. But they take a stance of careful strategic ambiguity on what the law should be with regard to the contact issue. VP was very much created as a dissent to ...

Re: CP legalization on its way, thanks to AI - or could it get worse?

Kind of makes me wonder. What if you took an actual illegal CP image, then added a watermark identifying it as AI generated and put it out on the internet? Maybe even doctored it to give somebody six fingers or something that looks AIish for added effect? Could you muddy the waters enough to cause p...

Re: What's your view of evolutionary origins of MA?

I have two theories to offer here. The first is that pedophilia is just hebephilia gone too far. Developmental neurology is an imperfect mechanism, and in the same way that sometimes the brain development fucks up and gives a man the sexual orientation intended for a woman (homosexuality), sometimes...

Re: MAPs and the Radbruch Formula

Cases like this, where the law itself is not inherently discriminatory but it sure feels like it's intended to be discriminatory, come up a lot in common law. And the usual test is if there is a "compelling government interest". Basically, is there a plausible purpose for this law other th...

Re: B4QR Volume 4, Issue 2

I always love reading B4QR. There is something very amusing to me about watching the reviewers tongue lash academics for being disrespectful of MAPs, and then reading the contrite replies those academics write back apologising for being rude to pedophiles.

Didn't see that shit 20 years ago.

Why are there so many BLs?

I admittedly spend a lot of time in BLs spaces, being a BL myself. But even when I poke around explicitly not BL spaces like B4um, I've noticed a consistent trend: there seem to be at least as many BLs as GLs. This even though in general there are way more straight men than gay men. (Separate topic,...

I'll aim low:

I have a dream, that one day I can hold a fucking support group meeting in my living room, in person, without fear for my safety.

Re: MAPs and the Radbruch Formula

Based on your argument alone, no actually I'm not seeing it. The fact that statutory rapes laws disproportionately affect MAPs is NOT evidence in and of itself that the law is discriminatory. All groups - MAP or not - are subject to the same test: how old was the sexual partner. For example, traffic...
