The huge flow of myths being perpetuated by Dunning Kruger "experts" in pedophilia and people being WILLINGLY ignorant about the subject

It is mainly because of the satanic panic and the whole stranger danger propaganda that the mainstream media was pushing back in the day along with more recent examples such as the infamous Peter Scully and the hurtcore content he was making while hiding out in southeast Asia.

If sexual activity with child = cruel. Then pedophiles like cruel. Makes sense?

After all, child sex offenses are often referred to as child sexual abuse. Pedophiles seemingly like this "abuse"? At the very least, many pedophiles seem to like watching it in child pornography. By this logic, getting off to abuse of children.

Also for a lot of people, playing devil's advocate or challenging their own beliefs, is something they don't want to do. Especially not in a matter with such strong emotional underpinnings.

You talk about them thinking it's impossible for an adult to feel love and attraction towards a minor in the same way an adult would feel it for another adult. I don't really see why this would be something that they'd care about either way. Feeling love does not justify.
