It goes both ways. One could also point out that the mainstream view on children nowadays, as some kind of utterly pure and extremely frail thing that will be utterly traumatized and ruined if someone would do as little as grazing their butt or peck kissing them, is also a form of pedestalization.

I myself wouldn't say I worship children. It's not about them being perfect (no one is) or even better than adults; they have general pros and cons in relation to adults and, boy, do I love the pros (:
