If you repeat a lie often enough, then eventually people will believe it to be "the truth," no matter how ridiculous the lie might be. You see it with the "everything under 18 is wrong" fallacy, even though there's zero evidence of that, which the politicians know themselves. Therefore, the age of consent is different and contradictory everywhere you go, but the lie about the age of consent has been repeated so much that people just believe it, even though the lie is inconsistent and false

I actually agree with this, I mean scientifically the brain doesn’t stop maturing until it’s 26 so like if we’re going by science wouldn’t that be the age. Idk I just try to follow the law unfortunately

Waiting for the brain to mature before approaching sex is like waiting to finish growing before walking upright, isn’t it? Even pretending that it’s true that the brain stops maturing at 26, I can’t imagine what a person would be like if they discovered sex only after the brain stopped developing.

I mean, try to think what it would be like if, for the same reason, people learned to speak only after the age of 26.

Which is safer, a minor seeking it from an adult that can ensure it's done in a safe manner (condoms, not causing physical harm, etc.) or two minors who have no knowledge of the consequences of sex (STDs, pregnancy, etc.)? My opinion is if the minor is the one initiating/requesting, then it should be allowed. To me, this shows they are of an age to learn/consent. To me, when the adult is initiating then they could be trying to introduce the minor to something they are not mentally ready to learn.

Minors should receive good education about those topics, especially when they are old enough to get pregnant, although I see your point.

Oh boy you are so wrong about brain maturation. I'm glad you brought it up though. In short, brain development is how the brain adapts throughout one's own lifetime due to the environment that gives us the experiences that matures, not necessarily as fixed sequenced stages of brain development which only applies to the fetal stages of brain development and one can arguable say very early infancy.
