Hi, new to accepting myself as a MAP, instead of a pedofile with the negative conotations that go with it. Still trying to discover the moral middle ground between fighting my attraction and accepting it as a sexual orientation that I can't help.
I discovered the MAP community a few days ago when fighting negative feelings of feeling like a pedophile. I've spent a lot of time browsing the support groups, such as Virtuous Pedofile and B4U-ACT. I spent hours reading social studies conducted and came to the conclusion we might not be as much of a minority as people believe.
I'm non-exclusive, mostly a hebephile. Prefer ages of 11 up, sometimes I'll dip lower, but not much. Female only. Registered here to occasionally join some interesting discussions I've seen, and get advice on how to handle my attractions in a safe and legal manner. I look forward to future discussions!

Re: Newly accepted MAP
Welcome!
It can sometimes take a while to settle on what feels "right" in the truest sense of the word when it comes to our attractions that are treated as "worse than murder" by society.
Being able to step outside of laws and social norms and develop your own independent moral compass takes time and effort- something many people in the majority never need to do.
But one of the things I like about being a minority, in this case a sexual minority, is that it forces me to really think about morality and ethics, and I feel that as a result I've developed a much more fine tuned moral compass than most people in society.
I'm glad you're here and hope you find this space supportive as you continue building your own understanding.

Re: Newly accepted MAP
Thanks for the warm welcome. As you say, even before accepting myself as a MAP, I've always felt I've had a "better than most" moral compass. Which makes accepting being a MAP so much harder, as on a social level it's pretty morally unacceptable. Reading personal stories and statistics done through official studies has helped immensely with my confused outlook. A work in progress but I hope to develop a middle ground that has me feeling somewhat decent about myself.

It took me a long time for me to accept this orientation and to be comfortable with it. It will get better as you go. Keep learning, exploring and connecting with others. Now I feel like it's a gift in a way, that the love we have is very pure and special. It's not an easy life in the current social climate but it can be very beautiful at times. Glad you're here.

I typically only have the energy to reply to a couple of things a day before it starts to overwhelm me.
There’s no real reason for why I reply to some topics and not others.
What’s up?

Every pedophile is a MAP. But not every MAP is a pedophile.MAPGL917 wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 4:36 am Hi, new to accepting myself as a MAP, instead of a pedofile with the negative conotations that go with it. It's about the age group you're a attracted to which can make you a pedophile. Yes, the word pedophile does have negative conotations. It wasn't always this way. And the anti-c groups like virped has only propogated this myth by calling themselves 'virtuous' as if being a pedophile is something which is inherently bad. It's totally up to you which term you prefer to use for yourself. I personally prefer the terms pedophile or girllover for myself. That way I don't have to explain much to others about my attractions.
Yes. And those are just the MAPs you see on the forums.MAPGL917 wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 4:36 am I discovered the MAP community a few days ago when fighting negative feelings of feeling like a pedophile. Add to those who don't have access to such forums or are found only on the sites sharing PIMs and you'd notice the numbers are pretty high.
