The German Green Party - a forgotten chapter in MAP history?

Post by AtosW »

Usually it's the Netherlands that comes up, along with some ill-fated initiatives in the UK and France, in regards to MAP activism history in Europe, but why doesn't this come up as often?

Seems like a really big thing to me, especially since it's a major party that still exists without major changes. I wonder what those in the party think about it today - of course, as these articles show, they outwards distance themselves from it, but i'm not sure it's what they all really think about it.

German Wikipedia has a huge article on the controversy. Not sure if the translation has been attempted yet.

many Greens at the time had "ignored the structural power differences between adults and children".
I don't know if I have to laugh or to cry...
When society judges without understanding, it silences hearts that yearn for connection.

There are structural imbalances between adults and minors so let’s not only keep those structures but entrench them and make the imbalances even more pronounced!
If only some people can have it, that's not happiness. That's just nonsense. Happiness is something anyone can have.
