Greetings,

I've been in and around the community for several years, mostly lurking and mostly anon. I think the time is right to start being a little more active. I think Mu forum is a fantastic platform and it seems to have a good balance of moderation vs personal freedom in beliefs. I like that. I am no longer a member of other forums - I want to keep things simple.

I've known I was a pedophile since puberty. Now in my late forties, although I can say that I'm a "proud" MAP, but I have the wisdom to know this isn't ever going away and so I better hurry up and at least accept it

I am married, I do have kids and I'm not out. I'm not out as a MAP nor Bi, so day to day life is sometimes hard with that emotional burden sometimes.

Hope to be able to contribute meaningfully to some great discussions.

Welcome Alter Dragon, and thank you for sharing your story! I'm sorry you have to suffer with the burden of secrecy, but I try to remember that life has suffering (in different forms) for everyone. Not to diminish yours or ours! But to at least connect with all humans knowing that we all do suffer.

But what would your wife have against you being bi? I mean, if you were fully gay, I can see her responding like "Are you saying you're not attracted to me? WAS IT ALL A LIE!?" But you don't imply that when you say bisexual. The most likely reason I can imagine is that she's hyper-religious and believes all even slight sexual deviants should burn in hell. Am I close?

I can imagine two reasons, one is bi erasure: she thinks there's no such thing as bi people and bisexuals are just gay people who are lying. The other is the stereotype that bi people cheat. I think some women can have as much toxic jealousy as men, so if she had to watch out for not only every woman her husband is interacting with but also every man, that would probably cause problems.
