I was reading some loli manga online the other day, and in the authors note at the end of one of the “books” was him openly declaring about how he enjoyed seeing real life elemenary school girls walk to class past his window in the morning, how he missed seeing them due to summer vacation starting, and how he drew inspiration from them. Another shota “book” author put in her authors note that she refused to draw adult x adult and would only stick with kids because it “wasnt her fetish”. Like you cant make this shit up.

I talk with a pretty fair number of 3D Loli artists/creators and a very many of them have admitted to me, privately, they have some form of minor-attraction, either pedophilia or hebephilia. They are often afraid, usually discouraged, of admitting it publicly because the lolisho community likes to tout that "pedophiles will never be welcome in our space". Often "exposing" people and harassing them excessively to "get them out to protect the community."

Personally, it's a pointless and stupid battle, but some people just can't seem to understand that the material is overlapping in terms of interests. The one thing in common though with all the artists I talk to, creating it is both a sexual and creative outlet for them. Therapeutic, if you will.

There are dozens of lolicons I can name off of the top of my head right now who are incredibly vocal against MAPs and frequently, what feels like every hour, say something new and hateful about why they hate us so much.

I like to occasionally check in on them to see how far they've fallen.

Equating lolicon, a fictional expression, to real child pornography never sits right with me. For more realistic fiction, like 3D renders, I'll usually call it virtual child pornography but it's still fictional.

Depending on where you live, the law may or may not classify it under the same umbrella, like Canada does for example. The UK however, while it does ban it, still categorizes it differently at least; indecent (real) vs prohibited (fake).

I think it's fear. It feels a lot safer for a person to identify as a lolicon than as a pedophile. All of us now how overwhelming the pressure is if you self-identify as a pedophile - hostility and hatred from almost every direction. It's hardly surprising people wouldn't want to acknowledge that part of themselves. If you could lie to yourself about it, why wouldn't you? It's a lot less stressful to think of yourself as a fan of cartoons than part of the most hated demographic in the modern world.

As accusatory as I sound, I actually have sympathy for people like that. There's an innocence to being able to think like that.
