I keep hearing that but don't believe it because my kids have used it for years and haven't encountered anything like that.
Sure there might be adults posing as kids out there but none of my kids have ever felt threatened on there. This smells like a lawsuit designed to squeeze money out of the game makers or to push through some agenda.

Two points here.

1. Between themselves and Dolman, there must be well over 1,000 suits now ongoing, which means that ambulance chasers have well and truly arrived at the online "grooming" moral panic. Dolman even created it's own website to search for Roblox suit plaintiffs.

2. There appears to be an angle now, where it could be argued parents are leveraging "their property", i.e. their children to take advantage of compensation handouts. We need to find out where the money is really going after it is paid out, and if the actions of the mainly middle class and legally astute parents are coercive.

A lawsuit filed today alleges that Roblox Corporation enabled the grooming, exploitation, kidnapping and rape of a 13-year-old girl by creating a “digital hunting ground” for predators while falsely marketing their platforms as safe for children.

Many such cases are shady to say the least, from the news reports. These look like cases where evidence was discovered by parents, and the child or teen was not genuinely traumatized, or got strong-armed into cooperating. The parents see Roblox as a cash-cow, and the lawyers see it as a gold-rush.

The language used is utterly bizarre. Like, "intrusive sexual ideation", "profound loss of safety"(??) These are things you would say in response to a RL experience of a teenager, when exactly? These are things you wouldn't say if you were scrambling for a justification for excessive litigation, when exactly?

The lawsuit also says the teen has endured, and continues to endure, “humiliation, shame, persistent anxiety, intrusive sexual ideation, and a profound loss of trust, safety, and innocence.”

Family is demanding a jury trial to determine the amount of damages owed as a result of the “severe injuries” that her son suffered because of Roblox’s conduct.
