I wrote this for BoyChat, but I'm copy and pasting it here. Obviously posts by GLs are very welcome.
There's been a bit of lamenting over the absence of boy-related posts on 'BoomerChat' recently, so I thought - obvious dangers aside - I'd make a start. Should others decline to partake, don't complain about activism-related issues dominating the board!
I started a new job not too long ago, working mostly with 6th graders (peak awesomeness for me), and they are super nice kids despite the popular stereotype of their peer group being the flag-bearers of young adolescent angst. I really like the girls (non-physically), too. They are not the best-looking group of boys overall, but character is more important than appearance to an older me.
I've already started to become friendly with some of them, doing sports together informally, exchanging phone numbers, having them come up to me and ask if I'll hang out with them (at work) later, eyes full of love and excitement.
They are still boys, however. That means slapping their friends' asses as a joke, taking their shirts off, one boy trying to pull down another's pants with killjoy BLR professionally telling him to stop (why did I do that?).
I think it's only a matter of time before some of these boys become YFs. It is nice to be loved.

Lol, I renember in middle school when we would all slap each others assess. Good times. Now adays, the entire 8th grade class would get arrested for “child on child sexual abuse”
