Essay concept: God's Chosen Molester: Privilege in the American Legal System

The Morris sentence is striking. An evangelist very close to Trump will be out of jail in months after continuous contact offending against a girl on the cusp of puberty.

There is obviously an angle here. Find examples of imaginary child offences (AI convictions, decoy-only convictions) and compare the custodial sentence to the Morris plea deal. Say what has to be said about Morris and his optics as a man of God and the demon-flagellating "I feel your pain" showboating of the families around the trial.

I mean it's obvious by now that laws don't apply the same to everybody. Laws have always been lighter on people in position of power, wealth and influence.

I don't know, couldn't it backfire? The only thing MAGA seems to turn against Trump for is the Epstein files. I'd worry that rather than increasing empathy towards non-religious MAPs, it could just encourage stronger hostility to religious MAPs in addition to non-religious ones.
