I occasionally read these type of stories for discourse analysis, and once again the framing is wholly unsatisfactory.

It seems this man defended against every charge that the relationship had involuntary components and put his hands up to the charge of unlawful.

So we are asking to punish him harder for making the correct decision to put the complainant through a trial, because adults around her convinced her to go with greedy and excessive charges that failed??

What was his option, exactly? Who has ended up traumatizing the girl? Pig headed antis, that's where the "trail of despair" ends.
