A guide to MAP forums / communities

Post by Learning to undeny »

Hello,
I would like to know how this forum compares to other MAP communities on the clearnet. Is this the only public forum? I know B4UAct, VirPed. Are they more for support and sharing your life? Or is there as much talk about politics as here?

How does their size compare to MU? And are the predominant opinions similar to those on MU?

I want to decide which one to join, if any. Feel free to move the post if this is not the right place.

Thanks!

B4U-Act's b4um board is mostly for support, but has debate sections for senior members. In my opinion, it is all a bit too restrictive and overly concerned with keeping everyone happy.

VirPed is a support forum with extremely strict policies on discussion of contact issues (you may not even quote pro-c/pro-r arguments). I personally consider it something of a cult.

This forum is activism-focused, but has a support section for those who need it.

LifeLine is a good option for real-time chat and support. It's normally just used for socializing unless a person asks for help, but its ultimate purpose is to aid MAPs who are struggling. It's only open when a vol (mod) is available.

We can help you more if you let us know what you're looking for.

There's the MAP Rights Forum but it's slower:

There's the NNIA but it's closing down soon:

Thank you both! I'll give B4UM a try if I can. Also maprightsforum looks promising, with some moderate goals like distinguishing between purely statuory crimes and rape / assault. I may join some day.

https://visionsofalice.net/ is more of a social hangout. They do some activism but it's more about socialising and friendship.
