I tried registering a month or two ago and it didn't work. I took it personally.

I don't think I have time for another post but I'm glad I'm registered now. I was banned from another site and I don't know why.

Recently there was a major outage of MAP sites including this one as well as both girlchat and boychat and possibly more sites. I heard someone on VoA say it was a DDoS. Any news on what the situation was?

In our case, the attacker flooded the server with thousands of nonsense requests. It doesn't compromise the server, but it does take us offline until they get bored.

As for the other sites, I have no idea.

And how would they prevent it? Any user could mirror the forum.
Maybe there are already some, at least dozens of them, none of which anyone controls if they're local.
