Re: Reddit user says he is no longer attracted to minors
I almost have the impression that this person is still attracted to minors, and the only thing they have gotten rid of is the obsessive and compulsive thought. Then we are talking about fifteen-year-olds, which also leads me to consider it a fairly normal attraction.
It always has a certain effect on me how everyone seems eager to cover themselves, which is obviously an instinctive reaction to avoid ending up on the chopping block. Among the words of support, it seems to me that there's almost a climate of fear in being too enthusiastic, in taking an excessive step and exposing oneself too much. Even thinking of any MAP as if they were on the verge of suicide... isn't that a bit too much?
I also see discussions of pseudo-psychology, where too much credit is given to the narrative. Oh well, maybe I'm just too skeptical.

You want to know what I find strange the most? Is how psychologist find ways to connect way someone is the way they are with his psychologist linking his attraction to his sexual abuse as a kid. That is just a shitty correlation. And it's out of nowhere too. It's like he now just remembered his abuse or wasn't able to link it to his abuse or whatever until then. At least the comments were positive. I don't see too much of that with MAPs.
