Comic store owner appears in court in obscenity distribution case

BRUNSWICK COUNTY (WWAY) — Kathleen Hinds Lincoln owns “Marvelous Issues Comic Store” in Sunset Beach.

We attempted to speak with her at her shop, but the doors were closed.

She’s accused of handing out obscene comic books to children at a trunk-or-treat event, and she claims she had no idea about the content of the comics she was passing out.

Lincoln appeared at her probable cause hearing visibly distraught and apologetic.

Lincoln’s disposition hearing will be held on January 8th, 2026, in the Brunswick County Courthouse.
