Internet users have reported the existence of a Facebook group with over 20,000 members, mostly men, who allegedly shared child pornography with comments alluding to inappropriate behavior, causing outrage.

The collective Women on Fire (@werwomenonfire) brought the case to light by sharing screenshots, following numerous complaints in the state of Nuevo León. Afterward, Meta, Facebook’s parent company, suspended the group on November 20 and removed it completely eight days later.

According to investigations, the “Daddy’s Princess” group was composed of parents, teachers, and people with close relationships to minors. This is not the first case of its kind on Facebook, although similar interactions have also been found on other platforms such as Telegram.

Pedophilia is a paraphilia characterized by a persistent sexual attraction to prepubescent children. It is considered a psychological condition, not a crime in itself; it becomes a serious offense when it manifests as an action, that is, sexual abuse.

I'm not sure I believe this.

Being a pedophile is such a sensitive subject, why would 20,000 people join a group, on social media, announcing themselves as being a pedophile? That makes no sense at all. Or, is this a group of something else, like parents and teachers sharing pictures and video of their kids and students doing gymnastics or sports, and some comments being made like "she looks great" being taken as evidence that it's a pedophile group.

Maybe people really are so stupid as to actually trade cp in a Facebook group that requires users to effectively KYC their full identity to join. But I think it's more likely that this is another misuse of the term pedophile.

I assume it's like one of those reddit groups, "boysaskdads" or whatever, where the premise is reasonable, or can at least be put down to a fantasy or roleplay. Then prudes found some example of the platform rules being broken and it becomes a pedohaven.

Kind of like how "Women on Fire" are not actually self-immolating radfems (and no one is unfolding the deckchairs waiting for them to do stuff).
