For more than two years, a Utah family has been waiting and hoping for justice.
“I thought, ‘There’s no way that this man can’t be put away,’” Jordan said.
In September 2023, Jordan said her young stepdaughter reported to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office that a man sexually abused her when she was just eight years old. The KSL Investigators are not using Jordan’s last name to protect her daughter’s privacy.
“All this time we’ve just kind of been waiting,” Jordan said. “We’ve just been waiting for more to happen. We’ve been waiting for more information.”
The wait became frustrating, yet Jordan trusted the system to work. The family sought counseling services for the girl. Then, with no recent updates, the family requested a copy of the police report.
“The next thing I know I’m getting a phone call from my husband and he’s saying that there is no report filed,” said Jordan.
