When the signal comes, officers quickly swarm a dusty yellow house, but Ms Olaes stays behind, monitoring the suspect’s online activity.

In a small bathroom, the search team finds a mother instructing her young daughter to strip naked, intending to livestream her sexual abuse to a paying international audience.

Two girls, siblings aged six and 10, are led from the house by a social worker who shields their faces with a scarf. Two suspects – the mother and her female friend – are arrested.

These two girls were reportedly advertised online for almost two years. They were located after Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) flagged suspicious UK-to-Philippines transactions and evidence was found on an Australian paedophile’s laptop seized during a police raid.

After finding the girls, Ms Olaes decompresses at the police headquarters. “I was angry knowing that another child has suffered abuse from their mother,” she recalls. “You should not provide for the needs of your children by abusing them.”

Both suspects detained during the raid in March 2021 were later sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted trafficking and six months for causing physical injury to a child.

Ms Asato has called for online porn to be regulated, like offline content, by the British Board of Film Classification. According to a spokesman, the board prohibits “material likely to encourage an interest in sexually abusive activity which may include adults role-playing as non-adults”.

Ms Asato has previously tabled amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill addressing “paedophilic-adjacent pornography” – including teen and incest porn.
