Adult child relationships CAN be harmful

I am pro c if consent is involved. But it is important to mention that adult child relationships, like any other type of relationship can be harmful.

Adult child relationships can cause trauma, be abusive, and harm. Just like how adult adult, and child child relationships can. I do believe it is difficult to know if a hypothetical relationship will turn out well in any scenario, but I do see a lot of people considering adult child relationships to be without fault.

I had adverse adult child experiences, and positive adult child experiences. My experiences also impacted my relationship with fellow children, and other adults in the future.

As you said: it applies to any type of relationship.
That’s why, for me, minors should be given the opportunity to free themselves from oppressive situations if they consider it necessary, whether it concerns sexuality, physical or psychological violence, and so on.

Let’s remember: anything can be harmful, potentially even friendships between peers. (Which can lead to drugs, antisocial behavior, even gang rape, and so on…)

Yes, I agree, I just wanted to emphasize that every relationship has the operunity to go wrong.
Also that not every person, of any age, is ready having relationships.

Humans are complex, as are our relationships.
They can be harmful and they can be positive and they are usually a mix somewhere in between.
I don't think blanket laws that try to treat every relationship as the same makes any sense and creates more harm than good. Relationships shouldn't be hidden away, people should be able to talk to family and friends to get the best advice and help, whatever the age.

I also agree that hiding relationships to avoid legal persecution is a problem not only for healthy taboo ones but also in keeping victims silent. While I think the US might collapse before it ever adopts acceptance or tolerance of MAPs, it does strike me that the freedom of assembly contained in the 1st amendment not only pertains to political groups but also to freedom of people to relate to one another.

Just as ANY relationship can be.
Males are stronger than females giving males a chance to rape, assault or kill the female. We allow it.
Peer groups can be harmful giving way to drugs, gang rape, and other such things. We allow it.
Humans own animals that we could easily kill, and sometimes do. We allow it.

I don't see why AAM/MAP relationships are SO heavily stigmatized in this sense.
