An Indiana fire chief is wanted for arrest after police allegedly found photographs he’d secretly kept hidden for more than a decade that reportedly depict images of him molesting a child.
Roger Kemp, 49, is charged with one count of possession of child pornography, a Level 6 felony. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday.
Kemp served as fire chief for the Gregg Township Fire Department of Morgan County for several years. Gregg Township Trustee Matt Bishop confirms that Kemp stepped down from his position after his allegations came to light. Bishop said Kemp later appeared, via Zoom, during a fire department meeting on Thursday night to officially resign.
“The Township Board and I take these charges very seriously and do not take this situation lightly,” Bishop said. “We have limited control over the Fire Dept since they are a private entity that we contract with.”
According to court documents, a victim came forward in May 2025 and accused Kemp of possessing child sexual abuse material. The illicit material in question was reportedly images of Kemp and the victim as a child.
