"Pedophile" is the new "Jew"

Does anyone else feel like pedophiles have almost replaced Jews in terms of how utterly hated they are by political extremists online? If anything I'd say pedophiles are an even better target for collective, maybe even directed, hate because almost everyone can easily get behind the idea that pedophiles are bad. And since pedophiles could "be anyone", it's very easy to mark someone as a pedophile if they happen to be too disruptive to the status quo or the secretive workings of the powers that be. It seems a bit too convenient, especially in today's politically tumultuous times, that a "new" group to be hated by nearly everyone has suddenly surged into the lime light. It almost feels like this was not accidental or happenstance. It feels like we're being scapegoated to hide things and control people...

The comparison is not correct. There have always existed countries where Jews could escape from anti-Semitism and practice their religion openly and legally, and pedophiles could have not afford this in the last centuries. Even gays claiming to be persecuted in the 19th to 20th centuries were able to gather in clubs and have sex life. Pedophiles cannot have their own Stonewall inn!

They didn't "claim" to be prosecuted, they really were. I don't think such comparisons are healthy anyway.
